Thomas Oliver Chaplin, known worldwide as Tom Chaplin, is a renowned British singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of the alternative rock band Keane. Early years and musical training

Later, the band changed its name to Cherry Keane, in honor of a family friend of Chaplin’s, and eventually became simply Keane.

The album, featuring hits like “Somewhere Only We Know” and “Everybody’s Changing”, received critical acclaim and became the second best-selling album in the UK that year. Keane went on to release several successful albums, including Under the Iron Sea (2006), Perfect Symmetry (2008), and Strangeland (2012). The band was praised for evolving its sound while preserving its essence, and Chaplin’s emotional voice became one of the most recognizable in alternative rock.
